Rolling on floor laughing my ar-- off

Change of plans here, heading off between 5 and 6 am so should be at the festival around 12/1 with a good tailwind. A bit anxious about going back to a tent for this one but then again saving over £60 in fuel is a great incentive for slumming it!

The tent is a Wynnster Hawk!

See you soon!

Safe journey to all going away this weekend!

Got home at around 4ish this morning, slept most of the day!

A big thanks to Alan and Dee, you are the best!

Great to see me big sister again too!

What a brilliant weekend, this has to rate as one of the great things of 2006 for me and so much so that I am determined to get to the 2007 Glen miller festival at Twinwood! The amount of folks in period dress and the static displays from all the forces reenactment teams made this like stepping back 60+ years in time. Just wish it was a week and not just a weekend, so much to see, listen too, and do and not enough hours to do it in. Well worth the long journey and almost putting up with camping, next time the caravan goes too!

Hi Papa.....so glad you and Joan enjoyed the weekend.....we really enjoyed it...pity about the facilities....we were so glad to get home for a shower.....but the weekend was a great success especially seeing the people who dressed up for the event....absolutely brilliant.......pity I couldn't get the shore patrol to arrest Dee then I could have saved a fortune on our wedding....lol......I have sent Chris some pics of the wedding so she can forward them to you.......hope to see you and Joan again soon.....lots of love ...Alan & Dee

ps....nice to meet Jodywhite and Jeanjeannie at the weekend......and for those of you who missed it.....put it in your diary for next year.....well worth it....Alan

I'll second that all round! Absolutely brilliant week-end and fascinating things to see. The whole atmosphere sent everyone right back into the 40's. Amy and I particularly enjoyed the Lindyhop workshop sessions and learned 2 dances.  Wonder if we can remember them - lol.  Trying to convince the parents that they really must go next year too.

Brilliant to see my life-saving brother (Papa) again too - thanks for you know what bro - out of 5 your truly the best by a long chalk!

Will send pics on to Graham - Alan - they look really good will email you both shortly!

Sorry I missed you Jeanjeanie - must have been off round stalls or up the tower or just sitting listening to whatever was happening at the time!

Lovely to meet Jody and partner too!

Here's to Glen Miller Festival 2007 plus 40s gear too!

Hi All

We had a fab time at the festival too - good to meet Chris, Amy, Alan & Dee.  I think we will be going next year - and I hear that there may be a bit of an Elvis tribute (I Love Elvis!!)

Loved the Lindyhop - dont know if we'll remember it for next year though

Finally getting sorted out and have uploaded some of the 400 pictures we took to the Glen Miller meet gallery, only put up some cos then you will all get a tatse of what you missed although there is nothing like being there when a Spitfire roars overhead!

It was a great camping trip for us and one we will be repeating only next time in the caravan!
