On Friday evening (7th) we thought we'd pop over the Billing to collect some of our items from our static, prior to winter closedown as we don't think we will have the time to stay overnight anymore this year.
As was arrived, the smell from the Sewage works over the road, was in our opinion, really bad, either that or it was because we hadn't experienced it for a couple of weeks. On arrival, the funfair was in darkness although we could make out a few people wandering about. We drove through. At the first lake where the jetski/cafe building stands, (Tummy tuckers)it was closed. The newly opened Shark Island snack bar/amusement centre was closed.
One gazebo was pitched and a couple of lonely soles sat outside enoying the mild evening air.
We did what we have to do in the very quiet park then left. Saturday mid-afternoon and it poured with rain. If I were looking forward to my first visit I'd say if the sun shines and it's fine, get out and enjoy it, because come dusk, it aint very thrilling now that autumn is here.
