I've mentioned this on a couple of other posts and thought it might be a better idea to post a new thread.

On the 18th of this month Cockermouth will be hosting the CockRock festival. Actually the site opens up on the friday evening after 6pm and they have laid on some entertainment for early arrivals. Well i digress so on with the main topic.

The tickets vary in price but are very fair and all proceeds go to the air ambulance and mountain rescue (a weekend pass for an adult is 25 quid and the camping is free). There will be a load of bands playing on 4 stages throughtout the weekend plus bouncy castles and other entertainment. Families are more than welcome to come as they have put aside a camping section just for that purpose.

Here is the link to the website so that you can get more info:-

Peace

Hi Daisy

I'm sorry i didnt know this festival was on early or else i would have let everyone know in plenty of time. I just happened to be walking by Carnegie this week instead of driving and saw the poster in the window.

Yes you can go for the day - sat or sun - the tickets i believe cost 20 quid a day on the gate or 15 a day if you get one from either Billy Bowmans music shop in Cockermouth or from the Carnegie in Workington.

For all the prices etc go to this link :- http://www.cockermouthrockfestival.com/#/buytickets/4527978612

If you are wanting to go Daisy let me know which day you are wanting to go on and i'll pick you up the cheaper tickets from the Carnegie for £15 and you can give me it back when you arrive at the site.

Peace

I just cut and pasted this off the Carnegie website:-

Cockermouth Rock Festival (COCKROCK), 19th & 20th July 2008
Wellington Farm, Cockermouth, Cumbria

70 Bands on 5 stages including Eight Page Pullout, South Quay, Leroy Johnson & the Flicks, Skunk, The Mosaics, Yellow Bentines, Sour Mash, Seventhwave, Attica Rage, Indigo Skins, Freebird, Solway Deltas, Obrigado, Mazzoni + many more.  Also other attractions such as music workshops, circus performers, fairground & rides as well as a wide range of food and market stalls.

Advance Tickets:
Weekend: Adult £25 / Child £15
Sat 19th July: Adult £15 / Child £10
Sun 20th July: Adult £ 15 / Child £10

Under 5's go free.

At least you have some idea what its about so i hope it helps a little. Although i would suggest you still visit the link i posted because it gives a lot more information.

Peace

As far as i know the bands are coming from all over the country. There will be some local ones playing as well. I'm sure one wanted to come from Germany and another from the USA but there wasn't any room for them so they had to be turned down.

It's a shame you can't make it. But as you say there is always next year :-)

Peace

Hi Livergirl

I'm not sure if they take caravans or not. If you go to the link i provided earlier and get in touch with the organisers of the festival i'm sure they will be able to answer any questions you might have.

With it just been a farmers field i don't think there will be any EHU's though.

There is another festival coming up around the end of August called Solfest. I'll find out more details about it and make another post.

Peace

Hiya Nicnacnoo - cool name by the way - lol

Glad you are coming to the festival. Have you already bought your tickets? Just that they are more expensive on the gate on the day rather than getting them beforehand from Billys or the Carnegie.

Should be a great weekend no matter what the weather

Peace
