I'm new here and normally just track about to escape the rat race that is my world and I'm nervous of 'meets' ...I'm an artist and they just sound a bit formal and restrained and I feel I may be out of place!

So if anyone can put my mind at ease or has any knowledge of rock or reggae style meets in please email me! topshout at hotmail.com

Hello you two welcome to UKCS, meets are not at all scarey everyone is friendly and you are able to take part in as much or as little as you wish.

Nothing is formal.
As Alec has said there are very mixed age groups, but everyone does what THEY want to do join in with others or not.
There are lots of children attend and we try to ensure they have a great time from first introductions to keeping in touch after the meet.

Keep and eye out for the meets on the forums for the area you wish to go to and just put your name on the list.
Some meets you have to send a deposit up front but its only small and is to ensure that noone especially the campsite owner isnt let down.

If I can help and further drop me a mail or use the contact button at the top of the page and speak to the site owners..

Most of all have fun.

Hope to bump in to you soon on a meet

Daisy

Hiya Footprints

I posted a topic about the upcoming CockRock festival which you might enjoy. Go take a look if you havent already. But of course it depends how far you are willing to travel.

As Daisy has said the meets are informal and it's up to you what you want and dont want to do. The Fisherground one will be my first meet and im looking forward to meeting people i have chatted with on here.

Peace

Hi Footprints

The festival officially starts on the saturday but i had a chat with the people organising it and they are opening the site on the friday after 6pm for people with weekend passes and they are also putting entertainment on in the bar stage for nothing - which i think was a cool thing to do.

If you are deffinately going to go i will get you a weekend ticket from the carnegie for £25 and you can give me the money back when you arrive. It's a lot cheaper than buying a ticket any other way.

Let me know what you decide.

Peace

Hi John,

Thanks, that's a really nice offer. I think I'm going to have decline though as I've just got back from a few days of rain, rain, rain and more rain— but did I give up??! NO of course not... I must be a damn fool!!

I think it's going to take a few days to dry everything and reproof stuff that's no longer waterproof! Last time I used my kit was back in May in West Africa and I think the sun must have cooked everything so much it's no longer waterproof... Snowdonia is not the right place to discover things like this!!!

Meanwhile have a top weekend and I'll keep fingers crossed for the weather!
