Heard on the radio that the air show is back on again. Someone was on Talkback on radio Ulster talking to Wendy Austin and apparently its all back on again!
Wonder has decisions been made yet? Maybe it will be annouced on Monday.. If still cancelled we may have to go ahead with our UKCS beach party instead!

At a special meeting held at Coleraine Borough Council on Tuesday evening the elected members present unanimously voted to ‘bring back the NI International Airshow’.
Councillors were delighted to accept the gesture from the Coleraine Borough Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the local businesses to finance the 2010 airshow.
Mayor of Coleraine, Councillor Sandy Gilkinson, said; “I can confirm that the NI International Airshow will take place in September 2010 at West Bay, Portrush. On behalf of Coleraine Borough Council I wish to thank the local business community and the Chamber for coming together to save this spectacular event, it shows tremendous spirit in a difficult economic period.”... Coleraine Borough Council staff will now continue to make arrangements for the airshow to take place on the first weekend of September.
Really pleased about this. We've been over in Cornwall the past few years at this time and missed this so were gutted when we could finally make the show only to hear it was being cancelled
BTW we really enjoyed seeing Al's photos of previous shows
It was thanks to a group of local businesses that the airshow was able to be saved. You may want to support the companies.
To the best of my knowledge the businesses are Lynas Foodservice, Blairs caravans, Cantley's Spar Portrush, Ramore Winebar, Alexander Antiques, Tesco NI, B&E Security, Morelli's Ice Cream & Ian Donaghy Accountants.
Without their support we wouldn't be seeing another show.
I will be supporting the businesses.

Yes these businesses deserve people's support - mind you I was told by a friend that Moore's of Coleraine were on Radio Ulster talking about the air show and the possibility of local businesses stepping in to support this - and Moore's refused point blank to support this as they didn't see why they should.
So I shall be applying the same principle when it comes to supporting them.

I assume you'll be boycotting all businesses in the triangle that didn't support the airshow then ? And not just the ones that were asked on the radio ......
Not at all Arthur - that would be incredibly petty. Moore's are perfectly entitled not to support the air show financially, as are any businesses, however they could have put their point of view across more diplomatically.
It was their attitude that annoyed many of us locals not their decision.
