Hi, sorry for the absence, been doing loads of overtime lately, have got my tent and few bits and pieces, but overtime money not coming through as quickly as it should so will have to delay first trip until I have sleeping bags, etc.
I hope you and your boy have a fab time, I am really sorry we will miss it.

We are now aiming for the first weekend in May, was counting down the days too, so feeling a bit sad about the delay. Hope you have a wonderful time and the weather is good to you.

Can highly recommend Blair Atholl, (see my review for some info) was there Sept last year and it was fab. Try if poss to get one of the larger pitches next to the river. (don't worry it is well fenced off). Follow the path along the river into the castle grounds couple of good playparks there for the kids! You can also use the swimming pool at the site along the road (think its the River Tilt site). Pitlochry is worth a visit as well the kids will love the shoogly bridge as is the walk up to the waterfall at the House of Bruar and don't be put off by the warning signs just take your time and it is quite an easy path.

Change of plans at the last minute and we went here http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/details.asp?revid=3044 had a great time, nice site and the weather was ace would recommend it. Hi taddy hopefully you went to blair castle for your first trip as Elaine says its a cracking site and the kids would love it. Sandra this was my view
Had a change of plan and went to Witches Craig in Stirling. Thought it would be good to be only 30 mins from home incase we didn't like it/were too cold/kids unhappy. Needn't have worried everything went well. It was cold at night but we had loads of layers on and sleeping bags and duvets and the kids slept soundly and loved everything about camping. They had so much more freedom than at home where I hardly let them out of the garden on their own, none of them complained about anything.
Can't wait for our next trip. Only thing we want is a bigger tent with a living space as ours don't have them and drinking wine in the cold when the kids have gone to bed was more enjoyable in our friends living area.
