Hi Sharon

We have stayed in Loaneden before. It is mostly statics and as we had booked last minute  like yourselves we were put in a little overflow site which was a small gravel area. The facilities were clean and basic but as you will have your new van by then you'll not need to worry. There is loads to do in the area make a visit to Tickety Moos for ice cream or you could even venture to Lusty Beg Island for lunch that was fun.Whatever you do enjoy your new van.

Hubby must have posted about LoanEden earlier as I'm just in from work.  It's always nice to hear from someone who has been there.  Not too worried about the facilities - as you say we have everything we need in the new van.  Are you pleased with yours?  How was it to tow?  We've only been the 3 miles to the dealer and home!  We spent yesterday putting all our bits and pieces from our old van in and then sat in it and had a beer last night (sad or what!).  Tickety Moos for ice-cream sounds like a good idea - where is it?  Lusty Beg Island is lovely - we were there for a wedding a couple of summers ago.  Hope the weather picks up and we don't get the snow they are forecasting.  Saw your post in the other section aswell - thanks for getting back.

Have a good Easter.

Sharon

Yes we have stayed at Loaneden and can concur on all points with Karen.  We only stayed once, basically because we found a nicer site and when in Fermanagh always go there (Rushin House).  It was a little bit noisey at night as we were on the grass pitches in front of reception and the teenagers seemed to shop there to chat on way into statics at night.  Nice area, we hired a boat from Manor House last year and cruised the lough for the day, kids enjoyed that.

Hope weather improves as we're heading down on Friday!

Wendy

I would advise putting your wheel locks on in Loaneden, they have had trouble with people driving in, hooking up to an empty van and leaving before now - I think there is / used to be a 2nd entrance.

Yes there are 2 entrances to Loaneden and you could leave by the back exit without anyone seeing you. I haven't heard about any vans being taken.

We are delighted with our Sancerre. I have spent the last few days unpacking our old van and packing the new. I have even been shopping for little extras to match the new decor. Did you have any luck selling your van or did you trade it in? Our old van is going tomorrow we were really lucky as the first person to view it bought it. My husband towed the van from the south of England and he said there were no problems even though it was more or less empty.

It's not really the weather for ice cream but I have to say they do fab flavours.

Enjoy let us know how you get on in the new van.

Karen
