hi there, just looking for friends/fellow campers in the Essex/Kent area who like the odd weekend away.

Mum with three kids (B11, B10 G7) and can usually rope in another adult (or two)to accompany me on last minute camping trips. (ah and possibly a very sociable GSD)

Think it will be more fun for the kids if they have other kids to go off and explore/play/entertain each other.

I have a tent and a folding camper, and prefer EHU for a bit of ease.

So if anyone is likeminded, please message me here, I have never tried to arrange this kinda thing before so it may be trial  and error, just hoping to meet up with other families and enjoy some sociable times!!

Hi,

I tried a similar thing in my area but didnt manage to hook up with anyone.

We have a 9 year old daughter but we're in Hampshire so not sure if we could meet up at weekends. If we could find a site mid way between us it could be worth a try, We have a folding camper too and prefer EHU

Sounds good to me,

We are currently using a newly bought large tent Monte verde 900 (7.5 x 5 m) which has caused a few problems with siting owing to the size!!!, (no tow bar on new vehicle yet) so if we can find a site that will accept it, great.

Wouls love to use camper again when tow bar fitted but Confession time, I have NO IDEA how to put the awning up.... i split with my husband 18 months ago and he was the one who knew it inside out , its an old one, pennine pullman i think, cooker, sink, heater, fridge, wardrobe etc all built in, all works fine and no leaks or tears anywhere, just not confident on putting up the awning from hazy memory lol!!!

Most weekends we are free, so if we both look for a suitable site and can arrange to meet, that would be great!!

Not fussed about site facilities, My daughter is VERY sociable and makes friends very easily, my sons are more quiet and reserved and I have a GSD who is a bit barky when she first sees people but a gentle giant (11 years old)

You can email me on sparkling_lady at hotmail.com ad i look forward to hearing from you

Hi,

Don't mention awning!!  My husband finds that the worst part & always makes a hard job of it swearing "never again". I dont find it such a trial - its just part of setting up - although I couldnt do it by myself.

I've sent a test email message to see if I've got the address right.

I tried to colour code the poles.. even got confused with that...

Now though I have seen a different way of putting it up (if i ever get the poles right) . I used to put the canvas top up, then stand on steps to zip on awning, did I feel stupid watching the people next to us, leave there canvas top half down, zip it on with ease, then put canvas top up to full height and extend the awning pole legs,   oopsss. Is that why I couldnt do it!!!!
