I just wanted to say what a fantastically well organised and hard working crew

Had a lovely weekend until I lost my phone but everyone was so kind and helpful. Sadly it seems to have been picked up but not returned so has now been blocked. If anyone does happen to find it please contact me via this forum.

Despite the above had such a great time, lovely to catch up with old friends and am looking forward to next year already!

Re my lost phone - if anyone does happen to find it please could they let Derby police know as I have a crime number now. Many thanks.

Hope the weather holds for those still there today - it was quite breezy yesterday!

I agree, lovely weekend, great weather and lots of hard work form the ukcampsite team, shame people have to spoil it by keeping lost phones that don't belong to them and leaving blooming great piles of rubbish and broken tents cos they can't be bothered to clean up Grrr makes my blood boil !

Rant over as our little group of 4 families and countless children really enjoyed themselves.

Sorry we couldn't find the missing phone for the lady who lost it.

Looking  forward to next year:)

Hi all glad you had a good time. As for the rubbish in middle of field, we always make rubbish piles and as the field closes down a dustbin lorry comes on to drive round and pick up what ever is left. It is easy for them if left in piles around the site.

I'm glad you posted that Tracy. I have to admit that when I was leaving at 7.45pm on Sunday I added my one (very small) bag of rubbish to the pile - as it was my first time at Elvaston I wasn't sure if I was doing right but there didn't seem to be anywhere else to put it, though I felt a bit guilty leaving it there. Now I know it was ok I feel a lot better! lol

Thanks Caz - it started ringing again on Sunday when I tried it so had obviously been found but not returned despite all the publicity.  I cant help feeling upset about the dishonesty.  My own stupid fault I know but I thought I would get it back being as I lost it somewhere on the camping field. I used it for work as well as personal. So again, if anyone does hear anything please contact me via the forum or ring Derby police. i cant offer a reward as I'm skint

Sorry to hear you've not got it back Sooz. I know some people may say it's only a phone, get another one, but it's not just losing the phone it's losing everything that's in there as well. I had mine stolen last October, and not only did it contain a load of numbers I couldn't remember it also had some lovely texts from my son, plus photos of my DIL's very premature grandchild at only a few days old. I got an identical phone and paid T Mobile £10 to get my number back, but it just wasn't the same.

It is possible of course that its not so sinister, and your phone was simply dropped somewhere maybe into long grass, or under a display stand ect and no one did pick it up, its still there, and will remain ringable until the battery becomes flat. if it has been picked up, then maybe a child has it and you may stand a chance of its return if the parents discover it in a toybox or pocket at a later date?

I know how annoying it is to loose a phone, i lost mine down the back of a coach seat a couple of years ago,but didnt know that fact as i had been out and about and could have lost it anywhere, and it was only when the maintainace guys were cleaning up and doing a service at the end of the tour, that they found it, and i got it back, three weeks later!

Have you checked under your car seat, door pockets/tent tidy pockets, and around the linings of your clothes? its not lurking in with your dirty laundry by any chance is it, left in a jeans pocket ect? there all places i have found lost phones belonging to my family in the past!

Good luck anyway, i really do hope it turns up for you, you could also put a free add in the lost and found column of the Derby evening telegraph, offer a small reward, dont state what, then if it does turn up, have a small inexpensive box of choccies or biccies waiting with a bit of fancy wrapping...

Thank you - believe me I scoured the area where i knew I'd dropped it more times than I can remember! I know it was picked up because it was switched off then turned on again on the Sunday. Until then I believed it would be handed in
I thought that maybe a child had picked it up as you suggested, which is why I wanted just to mention it again.

It gives me hope that you got yours back 3 weeks later!
