I'm surprised I haven't seen much about this. It's going to be our first year and its close to home so should be a breeze. Eldest daughter & boyfriend are coming too and she thinks it looks dead cool!
Anyone else going?

Would have liked to have gone - but it is on after the Scottish schools have gone back after the summer holidays. As a Teacher I would miss most of it by only being able to attend the weekend.
Think it is daft to have a major event like this at a time when local families cannot make the best of it.
Contacted the C&CC about this but got nothing in response.

I can only go the weekend as well. its a shame you never got a response to your comment.
My youngest was at Balado for T in the Park so I told her this was Glee in the Park - for adults! I am excited and will look out for your flag Oldham. (Also looking out for Cobbs & Cadacs in use - thinking about a Cobb an think this will be the ideal opportunity to see it in action.)

NATIONAL FEAST OF LANTERNS join in as much or as little as you want. We will be taking Sooty and Sweep and the tent window will be a puppet theatre this year.
Only wish we could be there. Scotland is guaranteed to put on a wonderful weekend. OH has had 2nd knee replacement and isn't really fit although we do hope to be somewhere in the van in August
I always notice when you post as we have 2 charming westies. We decided against taking them this year in case they go nuts barking but once we get a feel for it we might try them next year.

I have just looked at the photos of your two gorgeous westies. We always take ours with us as she would never forgive us if we left her out and when packing the caravan, we have to pack around her as she sits in the van and has to be carried out. Luckily she only barks at some other dogs and passing planes (I think she thinks they are big birds). She just loves the camping life. However you are limited to some of the events taking place at the NFOL so unless they are good at staying alone in the van or you are happy to miss some things then maybe you are doing the right thing. Whatever you decide I am sure you will enjoy it. Have a 'wee dram' for us while you are there.
