Hi All,

Just wondered if there were any other Home Educating families out there who go camping??, especially if from the yorkshire area.

Apologies for not replying before now.  Have been away (yes, camping) and then came back to problems with the pc (Grrrrrrrrr!!), so not managed on for absolutely ages.

There are lots of Home Edders in the Sheffield, Barnsley and Rotherham areas, and lots of activities too!  Is it the same in Manchester?  We seem to be always on the go, and sometimes, the only way to get a break is to go camping!

Currently looking for a folding camper, so that we can go camping all year round.  Love going up to Scotland and down to Great Yarmouth, as there is so much to see and do, but with a tent, you have to keep one eye on the weather in the winter.

My Daughter is 11 in December, so getting to be a clever little --- girl!, lol.  But is very much settled into the Home Ed way of life and now takes on so much more than she ever did while attending kiddie prison.  We regularly go skating, swimming, library, Monkey Bizness, and other HE activities, aswell as the usual  visits to places like Fire and Police stations, all the local museums, and talks etc by PDSA and British Red Cross to name but a few.

What sort of activities go on in Manch?  Do you have many regular meets?

We will hopefully meet up in the next year, on a camping trip somewhere, it would be nice to meet other Home Edders.  We have been lucky in the fact that we have never been away during term time, and not had other children on site.  Having said that, there are a few of us that go camping together regularly, so it's very much like being at home while away.
