Has anyone booked Benone Complex and then been contacted by them asking for more money as they had not charged correctly at the beginning of the year? Must add here that the prices were up on last year when booking but they decided to put them up even more within a few days of booking online going live.
This happened my friend and she rang trading standards who have told her that when she booked the sites and they took the money off her she entered into a contract with them and under "contract law" they cant change that.
Benone told her that if she didn't pay the difference they would cancel her site bookings (as she has 3 seperate bookings, one for the month of July). Trading standards told her to write a letter to the council stating that she entered a contract with them and if they feel that she still owes them money they will have to take it to the small claims court and let a magistrate decide.
Also if Benone contact her again looking for the money she has to contract Trading Standards back as they are now dealing with it.
Just in case anyone else has had the same problem with Limavady Borough Council and thought of paying the extra, think twice and contract trading standards.
When I was there two summers ago it was the same story, but the cards lasted ages so didn't cause me any grief. I don't have a TV or much else to run on it, just the fridge and a light in the evening.
It wasnt a problem for us either apart from the fact we didnt know how long we would get on one card so bought two.Ended up only needing one, you cant return them and we werent sure if we would be back so gave it to the family beside us, who would be using the site again.
Dont remember how much they were, but they werent that expensive, possibly £2.

It isn't about the price of pitch (which I don't consider cheaper than other sites in area, and you have to pay for electric extra) it is about them asking for more money after she had paid for the sites in full over a month before.
If you book a holiday abroad from a brochure and then they bring out a new edition of the same brochure, usually the price has gone up. You dont have to pay the difference, so why should this be any different?
It doesn't sound right to me either. I have 6 days owed from them from two years ago but I doubt I've lost them now. I don't think your friend should have to pay any extra and I think the law is on her side.
She isn't paying. Trading standards told her not to as she had a contract with them, having her receipt for the dates she had booked and they were paid in full.
She rang Limavady Borough Council and they didn't have the courtesy to ring her back about it.
Customer is probably in the right, but if she turns up and they refuse to let her on, whats she going to do ? I would say it would be hard to get a Trading Standards officer up to the North Coast on a Friday night ......
