Hello members!  Can I ask your advice please?

Do any of you have any comments regarding the Lunar Owners Club please?  I've been in others previously and some are better than others regarding friendliness and helpfulness.  Any comments will be welcome.  Thanks.

Thanks for your reply.

I think that around £20 is the usual price per year, unless you're retired and join the Retired Caravanners Assoc.  mind you, it is still less half the price of the Caravan Club!

It depends on whats on offer for the money though.  I don't want just weekend rallies now we have plenty of time on our hands and with the cost of towing I'd rather go to one place for a longer time.

Sue

Hi Sue, have you parted with your Coachman for a Lunar then as your proflle states that you have a Coachman Amara 530/4. If you have, was you ever in the Coachman Owners Club at all?

Hi Tango 55

Thank you for reminding me that I need to update my profile!  We have just picked up our new caravan - a Lunar - but was asking in advance about the Owners Club.

We have had two Coachman vans and joined the owners club right from the start.  They are a great bunch of people and make everyone welcome at their rallies, in fact it was because of how friendly they were that we decided to try our first Caravan Club rally after being members for well over ten years but were too nervous to try one.  They have plenty of rallies to most places in the country, not just weekends but up to 5 or more nights and the membership fee is very reasonablly priced.  We changed our van this time because we got a new towcar and although the Pastiche range has been lightened they still weren't light enough for our car to pull.

I see that your outfit is a Coachman also, there are members from your part of the world, so why don't you try it for one year?

This our second Coachman caravan and have been a member of the Coachman Owners Club since mid 1995 and have actually run about 10 rallies ourselves on behalf of the club. We may possibly know you actually as we do the majority of members in the club now apart from the new members of course. If you live in in the Nottingham area I take it you have been to the AGM in Worksop in the past. We usually attend every year. We wish you the best of luck with your new Lunar anyway and hope you make some new friends in the Lunar Owners Club.

We joined the Lunar Owners club butas most of the meets were so far away we were only able to attend one and after attending that one didn't bother renewing again. You are better off joining either the CC or C & CC and going on their rallies if youare into that.

Thanks for your advice Surfer01.

I am thinking on the same line now too.  We have been members of the CC for 20 yrs and I have already booked a couple of holiday rallies with different Centres.  After all, apart from reading the monthly magazine, it's sensible to get something else out of the annual subscription!

We have been members of the Lunar Owners Club for years.  The rallies are in all parts of the country and can be very basic and I mean basic, from a tap and CWD to the luxury of electric and hardstanding.  You are greeted with a cuppa and cake when you arrive and there is usually a social and raffle planned in a village hall somewhere, but some marshals like to keep their entertainment and hospitality low key. You don't have to be part of the crowd, you can do your own thing and take what you want from the rally, use the field and enjoy the area. We do. You soon meet other members and exchange ideas etc.  There is a little formality but usually lots of fun with a good group of people.  Lunar is not our only club. We are members of C&CC and the CC, we meet up with other DAs on holiday site and are BCC members, as well as two other clubs, we mix and match, not all Lunar. Try the web again, look for the members stand at the NEC or write to Lunar HQ.  Have fun

Our experience at Top Barn in Worcestershire in 2005 was exactly the opposite to what you have written in your first post on ukcampsite, but maybe things have changed recently however each to their own.
