Sorry i haven't made it to this meet but I've had a streaming cold all week and still feeling run down and in view of the weather forecast stayed at home to take it easy (I am good at that). I must admit I left it to the last minute to look at the forecast before booking after losing money when I booked last month
I hope you had a lovely time and weather wasn't too bad. I hope to visit this campsite at some point so any photos would be welcome :)
Thank you all who turned out in atrocious conditions.
The tenters who didn't turn up. Good call, it would have been miserable waking up this morning to an inch of water all over the site. The Ship and Anchor site at Ford, near Littlehampton is nice and flat with a lot of hookups and hard standings The food in the pub is plentiful and quite tasty for pub grub. Our meals turned out to be about £10 pp.
Now for a WARNING.
Anyone (like me) who is alergic to mossie bites steer clear or take some meds with you. The place is alive with them at night. The owners are aware of the problem because the carry anti mossie coils and spray. They should really mention this in their blurb. I was quite ill last night but ok now ... Thanks fer askin'.
Have managed to get tent and awning dried out now after a wet weekend. Even so we made the most of it and had a good time. Nice to meet you all and hopefully will meet up again soon.
We were all well fed at the pub, and the local mossies were fed by Pete
Glad to hear you had a good time despite the weather and the mozzies. I was surprised to read that the site became flooded. When I was there we had some torrential rain and the site seemed to drain well. No mozzies in August 2011 when I went either...perhaps July is the month for them.
