Sarah, we were really lucky in as much as it didn't rain during the day much, more at night. I dropped my cook tent on the Saturday so that just left one wet tent to take home! It is indeed a can of Smidge! The little blighters were out every time the breeze dropped, which was only really early morning and some evenings.
So if you know any of the folks in the pics, let them know they are now famous!
It really does look great up there. Do you think you will be going up in August? I have a few weekends off work then. We would love to spend some time there. I will keep my eyes peeled for any further dates and will hopefully be able to join in!

These meet ups are really Loosely based on the dates of Jim Call's visits Krazy...He is up there at least once a month throughout the year for a week at a time....Everyone else turns up when they can!! Some..for the week...Some for 2-3days...and some for 1 night!!
You will notice that most of the piccies feature a tarp..a firepit and a few tables and chairs dotted around...These are situated in what we affectionately call "Jim's Spot" Where he can be found on most of his visits...We usually pitch on(or as near to) "Jims Spot" (see piccy with 3 tents in background)And bring our chairs and tables over and use the "Spot" as a central meeting place...Once again..Everything is loosely based round that spot..If you fancy a wee chin wag...A bit of banter and a wee drink of an afternoon meet up at the "Spot" If you fancy a drive/walk about..A wee fishing trip with your family or even a wee kip in your tent that's fine too...No pressure to join in or not join in..
Some of the folks we met last week had large groups of their own friends/families with them....But came over for an hour or so to meet up...Others were on their own..and spent most of their time round the fire with other like minded folk...Totally chilled atmosphere..Do what you like..Join in or not...Its up to you...
Keep an eye out for Jim Call posting when he's due up there...If it fits in with your time off(even for a night or two) I'm sure you would be made most welcome....

I will most likely be up in August from around 3rd til the 10th and again from 16th to 19th then prob from 31st til the 2nd Sept !
I will post on this thread when I have definite dates
The only stipulation is that you go home totally chilled and ready for a Monday back at work with a smile on your face!
Oh and a red tinnie
Great Will watch out for dates.
Red tinnie not a problem but going back to work with a smile on my face may be harder!

I've got the wee Oakland spread out on the livingroom floor drying off nicely - think I will start a small smudge fire on the coffee table, she'll never notice!
Please remember to put some sort of protection down on the table before you light the fire...Ive found the wifies don't mind a smudge fire in the living room (especially for tent drying purposes) But put a burn mark on it..And yer life ain't worth living if she finds it...Oh aye...Best to put a tarp over it as well..to protect the emulsion and any light fittings as well...They can get a bit funny about light fittings as well......
