First of all a big 'thank you' to those that supported the festival in 2013. We have since the 2013 festival handed out a total of over £30,000 in donations to various local and national charities and local projects.

2014 sees the 20th Anniversary of the Shackerstone Family Festival. Not bad for three groups of volunteers to have achieved since we gave ourselves three years to have some fun and raise some cash for local projects. How its blossomed.

No Red Arrows this year. they are in Northern Ireland and Switzerland (long way to go with a caravan) but the entertainment booked offers a great weekend for all those involved. Evening entertainment on two nights for those staying with us.

Discounted prices are offered to UKCampsite members and hopefully the form will soon be attached to this thread.

BENEFICIARIES for 2014 will include: Royal National Lifeboat Institution - Leicester Children’s Holiday Centre (Mablethorpe) - Ashby Canal Restoration - Battlefield Line Railway - Shackerstone & Congerstone Village Projects - Many other fund raising charities & local projects attending. There have already been over 150 exhibit application forms received from people who want to bring everything from military vehicles, classic cars, vintage motorcycles, Traction Engines both large and small and much much more.

It should be an amazing weekend as always!

Geoff (of 'Geoff and Pauline' - in charge of caravans and camping fame) has informed me there are a number of UKCampsite members now booked in for the festival. Please make sure you use the form showing the UKCampsite name on the form and price discount for members so that the members can be allocated in the same space.

Mobility scooters can be delivered to you on arrival at special request. You will need to bring proof of id (driving licence/utility bill etc.) when collecting/receiving your scooter.

The final day for the current discounted price to UKCampsite members is the 22nd August.
Although there will still be a discounted price after this date all camping prices increase on the 23rd as the closer we get to the event the removal of the early bird discount subsides.
Think that makes some sense.

The last I herd from Geoff and Pauline, our caravan and camping boffins on caravan numbers was that the figure is approaching 200 with the number from UKCampsite well into double figures

The counting down of days is almost now just counting hours before the start of our twentieth family festival.
We already have some UKCampsite members on site, Brian and Margaret, who are assisting us setting up the fields ready for the weekends fun...and our thanks to them.

about 4 miles away Co Op and a number of independent shops/tea rooms at Market Bosworth...larger Coop at Ibstock about 6 miles

Atherstone about 7 miles has a large number of individual shops and stores plus 2 supermarkets

Ashby has Tesco 8 miles and Swadlincote Sainsbury.
