I've just come back from a gorgeous little site at Leyburn called Craken House - I left a review on it if you like. It's quiet and peaceful with amazing chap who runs it. It's only a mile walk into Leyburn though you have to walk past a chocolate factory which is really gorgeous!
It's also handy for trips to the Wensleydale Creamery where they make amazing cheeses, Aysgarth Falls for a great walk, loads of amazing scenery - the Forbidden Corner which totally blew my mind as probably the most amazing place ever.
Although the season is over I could be tempted to get a few more days away - especially to try out my new purchases. Just get in touch!
im from newcastle and im 26 M.. totally new to camping so if you have any good experience im sure it would help me out loads...i would be keen on doing something sometime if you were interested.
hi steve. i am a lot older, 68 actualy. but lots of experience in camping. i just bought a new tent. sendero 4 berth. fully sewn in. really nice tent. hiking is not for me now. knees are clapped out.so i guess that suits the wife. she wants to start camping with me./ i have all the gear now. all new. just need another sleeping bag. maybe buy two really good ones. i am not far from you . down in the teams. bottom of gateshead. trying to guess what the tent is you have, and what make. camping is cheap enough. but some sites just want to bleed you dry. so that are to be avoided. soon as winter starts to come to an end, wife wants to go. not bothered who comes with us i might even do some winter camping up in inverkeithing. site is cheap. and not far from the train station. all back to basics there. but shops are near by. let me know how ya feel about a few days in cold weather,.
