Just to clarify a couple of points about my recent stay at Gibson Park. We has a choice of 3 pitches and as far as I can tell, all were on the main part of the site. I think I know what you mean about a small area, mainly for latecomers.
I admit that the bad weather didn't help, but compared to the other sites we stayed on, this was a big disappointment for us.
I think we must accept that not everyone will like every site or every town. I did say that the facilities were up to the usual high standard and that the staff were helpful & friendly. It just wasn't for us.
Our next stop was Berwick upon Tweed which we loved and wished we had gone straight there.
------------- Two drifters off to see the world.
I'm tired of reality, so I'm off to look for a good fantasy.
Could it be, because for a Scottish meet those sites, although Scottish are very South.
Ideally your looking Central Scotland/Perthshire to encourage a meet. Up by the Borders you are encouraging Northern English members to come across the border.
I am from Northern England and another guy who posted is from Cheshire - even further south than me.
I though somewhere equidistant would be ideal.
If the 2 Scottish members would like to suggest somewhere ...
I was very interested in the meet, but unfortunately my health took a dive and travelling any distance is now off the cards, hope you get the meet up and running good luck

Sorry, I should have explained this better.
I have had a Stroke and the outcome is such that it looks like we will have to be out of the camping scene for some considerable time.
As for future camping. We will just have to wait and see what the future brings.
