Lickhill was the first meet for myself and my OH and we both had a great time! We didn't meet that many people as I'm still trying to get my husband used to this whole camping idea and didn't want to throw him in at the deep end by running around meeting people. Next time though

Do have to say thank you to Tentmad for the tips on putting the stove and larder underneath together. I've tried it your way, and while still fiddly, it does seem easier. It didn't the first time I tried it that way!

Also thank you to Dondev1l (think that's the nick he's using on here!) and his family for falling into the whole camping 'trap' at the same time as I did. It's made for some interesting weekends so far this summer.

Anyway, next meet I am going to make sure that I run around and meet more people so I can put faces to nicks on here!

dory,

Cadac, as Pamela said, is a portable gas bbq, but good quality.  It folds down pretty small (good for us as we have tent so loads to pack).  The cadac we bought comes with bbq rack, grill, frying plate, oven-lid (for roasting), stir-fry wok and a pan stand - therefore could replace your cooker.  Otherwise it means my OH can cook every day and I can do more r & r!!

Have had a go at that Ratty but I have to really reduce the size to get the pic under 300Mb but that just distorts the image too much.  Never mind was worth a try.

Hi Folks, sorry I haven't been around for a wee while the PC has bitten the dust and I have finally managed to get something out of mothballs to get on line!

Firstly I would like to say a massive thanks to Ian and Steve for the motorhome for the weekend, it was great to not have the worry of towing some 340 miles to the meet and Joan and I both thank you for being such terrific people!

Ian and Racheal thanks for all those lovely meals, especially the Salmon, hopefully we will return the compliment soon up here in our part of the country.

To all of you good people who came to visit us and say hello it was great fun and we are looking forward to doing it again just as soon as I am better, next time I promise to stay next to our unit and save you all trapsing around the field shouting on me! lol

To Chrisamy, thanks for a great weekend, all your hard work and efforts were well worth it and everyone said how much they had enjoyed themselves and that was down to you and those helping you to keep things running so smoothly. Of course as a Thompson I knew that you had the skill, family tradition and all that! lol

All in all we had a great time and loved every minute, I myself am truly glad that we made the effort to do the round trip and meet so many great people, to all those we didn't catch up with I promise we will be back down to try again soon!

Its all be said on here already but what a great weekend, great weather, and great people, looking forward to the next national already! Just one thing, can we bring it up country a wee touch, maybe around the Lake district!

Thanks Everyone, Papa

By the way if you fancy hiring a motorhome I can recommend 'Just Go' Excellent Motorhome!
