I am a single male motor caravanner in my mid 50s and have been a member of the motorcaravanners club for the past 3 years and have found the single man is always left on the out side looking in. When on rallys people have barbacues, get togethers in the club house and the single bloke never gets an invite, do the men think I am after their wives or is it just a very clicky club ? Is there a solo club in Cornwall or meets in the county. no one likes being alone so it would be nice to meet others in the same position.
I don't know about meets in Cornwall but I can sympathise with what you are saying......a single person in a couples world......I hope you find what you are looking for...
oh.....and welcome to UKCS the single most addictive site on the net......somewhere in this forum you will find Hippychicks official welcome newbies message......which includes advice on UKCS anon!
Cornwall is very far away for a lot of members especially for the weekend but I would hope as membership grows more and more meets are planned in each region. We are in Paignton, Devon but find many meets too far for an afterschool/weekend getaway. It is much worse for those further south west.
The other question of family status - IMHO is not an issue. I don't think that any UKCS meet discriminates between families of any set up (sky's the limit)/singles.
Hi Roofer, there has been one meet already for singles (although I believe not rigidly restricted to singles); if you enter "singles meets" in the search section (Rallies and Meets forum), you'll find a couple of threads about it - hope this helps...

I'm sure you would be most welcome at any of the UKCS meets, the members are from a wide spectrum of people and are such a welcoming crowd you cannt fail to enjoy any of the UKCS meets you decided to attend.
There are going to be 2 cornish meets next season venues and dates are still to be decided. They will be sorted by the southwest co-ordinator who is loopy ( totaly )She will be about soon to put you straight on this.
Also just because you are single does not mean you will be left out.You can join in as much or as little as you like.
I am trying to arrange a couple of meets for Cornwall but i'm struggling to find places that will take us during the summer holidays, if you have any idea's or favourite sites please let me know on this thread
As others have said singles, couples, families......all are welcomed at our meets, and you can get involved as much or as little as you like
Hi roofer........welcome to UCKS......I started as a solo male camper and was always made to feel very welcome ........no-one thinks that you are there to chase their missus.........I have made many friends through UCKS......both male and female.......it's good to get a hug from the girls ......but that is what we are like ......good friends .......good fun......nothing untoward.......trust me.......UKCS has changed my life..........come and join us and you will see what I mean.......regards.......Alan......ps ......if the fellas start hugging me then I WILL get worrried......lol
Hi Roofer. I am also single and went on the solo/singles meet at cartref. There was a mixture of people there - single, married, one parent etc and everyone was made to feel welcome and I certainly didnt feel left out, although I do know what you mean and can empathise with you. Its a pity you live so far down, but as Loopy has said there will be meets in your area planned.
