I can't find a dedicated site for this meet hosted by Glynn-58 and aided/hindered by me.

Glynn suggested a Robin Hood theme so I have busily been devising the adults' quiz and putting the children's scavenger hunt together. The scavenger hunt will take the form of a story about Robin of UKCS and so I hope it works. Any suggestions to make the meet go with a swing are most welcome. There has been one already and I will post it at the end of this message.

My son and Harriet's Dad, who is the Premier/International (assistant referee) is out in Germany at the moment (but I am not allowed to say more than that!) He has donated some prizes including a football from the Leverkusen Bayer club  for the young 'uns and a travelling clock in a leather case for the adults.

So let's make this a meet to remember. I understand from Glynn that it is a good site with welcoming owners. I hope this thread grows and grows with ideas like the following:-

Hey Glynn / Joan, any chance we could have a hen / stag night at Trentfield?  It was suggested by someone at Skirly (sorry, can't remember who it was).  Everyone seemed to be up for it - only thing is, us girlies need to borrow Alan's BBQ for the camp fire heat!!!!  What d'you think?

Anyone fancying being Robin Hood and Maid Marion for the night?

Joan

Is there going to be 2 scavenger hunts then??  one by car and one for the kids?

Also the fancy dress, is that just for the kids or is it a free for all?  (wonder how many of the men will brave dressing as maid marion??)

The teddy bears picnic, are we all bringing bits of the picnic food?  I know it says the owners are organising it but wasnt sure if they were supplying food or not?

And lastly a tug of war would be good, if anyone has a rope.  I know we did one at lincs lanes last year but i wasnt sure who the rope belonged too.  all the kids and adults loved it and its a bit more on theme for this weekend.

I'm really looking forward to this one, its way too long away though lol

Simba, it's best if I leave Glynn to answer your questions as I am only organising the children''s scavenger hunt and adult quiz - up to now  -but I guess there will be 2 scavenger hunts as I know the owner of the site is organising something for adults.

We had a tug o' war at Dent and I agree it was popular. Someone had borrowed the rope from a tree feller but I  don't know who it was. If someone is handy, they could make one of those log rollers that the men dance on in ''7 brides for 7 brothers.' There must be an A&E somewhere near. Also 2 people sitting on a log over a kiddies swimming pool bashing the hell out of each other with foam batons is fun.

My imagination is getting the better of me and so I'd better stop there and wait for the ideas to flow in.

Joan

Hi Joan,

My grandson was asking if we were having a sack race at Townsend meet, so he obviously enjoyed it.

I still have the sacks if required.

Will we be drinking mead instead of the pink stuff on this one then, and is the dressing up only for the kids or us big kids too.

must get the pennants out of storage from the last kids medieval party!!!!

And stock up on the incense.

Cant wait, it's sounding better all the time. although my 8 yr old is refusing to dress up so far, I'm hoping he'll change his mind.
