Afternoon, a couple of years ago we converted our swb mercedes sprinter into a campervan & loved the process, we bought a 1991 abi monza caravan & butchered it for parts,
I'd definitely recommend having a go at converting a van

Is that gas bottle part of the installation? I would think that it should be in a sealed locker accessible from the outside.
At shows, I’ve seen the gas bottle in a locker accessed by opening the rear door of commercially converted vans.
However, it is conveniently reachable when you’re standing outside, given the gas valve should be shut off for travelling.
And the LPG label is on the outside of the vehicle, so that emergency services / fire brigade know where to go for the cut-off.
Finally, I might be remembering incorrectly (apologies if so), but when we had a gas bottle, there was ventilation in the floor of the locker because the gas is heavier than air, if there’s a leak. I expect the OP has done this.
This was our first attempt at converting a camper van & didn't have the knowledge to have the locker door on the outside of the van so we access it from the back doors & its ventilated as I didn't fancy blowing us up
