I am not a sunseeker after getting very crisped in my early teens, and have avoided the sun as much as I can ever since!
With the Fiamma awning on my van, I had to keep moving where I sit to avoid being in the sun, even though I have a big sun brolly that I can attached to my recliner chair.
Then I saw a sun shade/view thingy on the campsite while camping in the Netherlands, attached to a Fiamma awning, and Googled to see if I could get one, and bingo!
Fiamma has its own line of sun views in different sizes, and Obelink sells one from its Dutch site.
I shall get one from Fiamma, to fit between the storm straps, so that it can be rolled up in situ when the awning is not used, and shall get one in readiness for my next trip in June 2024!
Hopefully, no more chair moving to dodge the sun!
And yes, I am optimistic that we shall have some nicer weather this year after the wash out that was Easter!

Aye. I’ve looked at something similar after a sweltering hot day at Newcastleton in the Borders (who’d have thought it?) where the dog hid in the shade under the MH. The pull out awning just shaded the MH interior, didn’t shade below: I think the short wall to move along might work ok.
But honestly! It’s almost easier to turn the MH around to have the habitation door on the shady side, if site rules allow.
The issue I have is that not all sites allow me to turn the van around, like the one where I am in the Netherlands.
All 6 of their pitches for MHs are designed with bricks for the van to park on right against a hedge, for the side door opening and open side to be south-facing!
Besides, once I have parked up, I don't particularly want to move again, especially if I have to use levelling chocks.
In future, I shall avoid the afternoon sun as much as possible by asking the staff and/or to check using a compass on my phone; before I get too comfortable and start drinking beers/ciders/Pimms/etc...
I have not come across many sites that would allow pitch which way I like for a hardstanding pitch. Big grass pitches, yes; however, not hardstanding pitches.
