Thanks Sooh,

you have just saved me the hassle of rushing to get to an "official" campsite by 8.00PM. Now we can leave Liverpool after the Friday mayhem has peaked, tootle down and get a good nights kip before getting the ferry. Not to mention one nights fees saved as well.

It might be a good idea for this site to start a list of stopovers ( both official and "by accepted agreement") for all of the ports around the UK.

Anyhow MHO has decided its Tesco for her so thats where we are headed.

Three weeks to our first major motorhome adventure. Cant wait.

Can I say a word about the French Car Park at Calais docks.

The beauty of it is that you can book your ferry for the evening, get over to the other side and crash out.

You will have done all of your travelling to the port (OK the last bit doesn't apply if you live beyond Glasgow) and you will not have put your clock out travelling at obscene times. The best bit is that you won't have a restless night worrying about getting up at the crack of dawn to catch a ferry. Been there, done that, and, got the t shirt.

Ohh,! the best bit. ITS FREE!!!!!  

stayed at marine parade loads of times, no problem and its nice and quite.their is another place in dover never been there myself but a lot of campers do overnight there.
