i would bet if it went in to dealers for its service and they spot it in the filter that you will have changed / with a genuine fiat filler /you would lose the warranty.

also with pumps are on these new vans

  I've heard that new engines (i.e. the fiat miltijet engines) do not like/will not run on veg oil.

The safest pump seems to be Bosch, anything else, if you leave veggie oil in the system, is likely to have the seals degrade and fail, meaning a very expensive HP pump replacement, interestingly Peugeot/Citroen have said they will honor the warranty on any of their HDI engines with up to a 35% mix, (although how they are going to check that I don't know!!)

That said, if I had a new Relay/Boxer van I would still check with Peugeot/Citroen UK before doing it, and get something in writing to wave under any dealerships nose!!

Lucas/CAV pumps will probably fail very quickly on veg oil. Don't use it.

The old Bosch pump has an oil feed from the engine, the Lucas/CAV relies on the diesel for lubrication, veg oil doesn't flow enough to lubricate properly, and also creates a higher strain on the pump. Have a loook at

Modern injection pumps are somewhere in between the Lucas and the Bosch.
