Just out of couriosity,if after paying to "upgrade" to the new cylinders,you run out and  have to accept an old syle one,are you then given any type of "paperwork" to say that you are entitled to switch back to the newer type?

Although I suppose you've always got the original "contract" to fall back on...

You should not have any problem re-filling a new light cylinder as i was told by my supplier when i last did mine that due to the cost of introducing them the old ones are being phased out.

It also cost more to re-fill than an old one

hi all, I have a question,(excuse my ignorance please) my adapter is an srg type 640 fitted on a blue calor steel cylinder,would that fit the new light calor cylinders?

 re the calorlite saga.!!

 at the mo. all dealers should be offering to exchange an old steel propane bottle for the new calorite propane at no!!! xtra charge,u only pay for the gas,which is usually between £2.50-£3.00 more than the old ones.

 this offer from calor runs up to 31/7/2010,no details as yet when the old steel ones will be withdrawn,but it will not be for quite a time yet!!!.

 we always have a spare,2 in van and one at home,just changed an old steel for new lite,cost us £19.46.will eventually change ova to all lites when others run out.

 half the weight.less noseweight,means u can adjust loadings better.

We already had a calorlite bottle in the van. We checked it before we went to Anglesey last week and it was a quarter full.  Not wanting to get caught out (and also having purchased a new cadac to play with!) we decided to take a second bottle.

We called at our local tip/household refuse site (whatever you want to call it) and asked them if they had any gas bottles we could have.  Unfortunately we had timed it wrong and Calor had been to collect a load the day before, they said normally we could take our pick.  However we were given a 15kg butane bottle, which we swapped for a calorlite at our local dealership with no problems and saving ourselves £30 into the bargain.

So, in theory we have £30 to put towards a new awning to replace the one shredded in last Thursday's storms! 

Not a cheap hobby this, is it!
