Putting the fact we looked at one & decided against it to one side, reading earlier posts in this thread, I'm always wary when folk self-describe as crazy or mad.

welcome to UKCS, Bongomad95.
If you check the dates, you'll see the original thread is dated 2008, and it revived very briefly in 2016. People / equipment / circumstances change so much over the years so it's rarely worth digging up a long-dead thread to try & revive it. Better to start afresh. I bet the 2008 original post now owns a massive vehicle with a pull-out lounge & jacuzzi.
Glad you're happy with your Bongo though - you're not alone, from what I read.
I ended up owning mine for 10 years in the end (I'd had it a year when I commented on this post originally).
Best vehicle I ever owned - never missed a beat.
I only sold it as we hadn't used it to camp in for a couple of years and it seemed more sense to have a more practical vehicle for our needs
Although mine was just an 8 seater, not a camper conversion, we loved it. It was reliable, drove very well, was comfortable, easy to get in and out of, and so versatile. Quite possibly I would still have it today if it hadn't been stolen in 2009. No trace of it was ever found, just like several others that disappeared in east Herts & western Essex at the time. I am certain that they were targetted and shipped abroad very quickly. The police didn't seem interested though.
it seams the petrol is better than the diesel, unlike the sherpa van with the perkins engine the japs were 10 years behind in there engines, a Sherpa like i had would do 38 mpg, that is why i had 2 of them,
