Hi rab-uk - Do you have much trouble threading the poles throught the roof sleeves ? I have , and feel the sleeves should be a bit bigger perhaps with more use it may get easier.

I have one of those also, don't know why they're discontinued, maybe just to make room for new models. It's enormous, great for long holidays but I use the Traveller awning more often. When the Cruiser is attached to the van we need a pitch of about 23ft. wide which not all sites provide.

Hi Kiev..
Before we sold our Movelite,I toyed with the idea of "splitting" the pole sets,so that you ended up with a pair for the roof section and four seperate uprights. This would do away with having to shuffle the "shoulder" joint all the way through the roof sleeves.
It would/may mean altering/sourcing some different ferals of some sort etc(...but as we never used our Movelite in anger before we sold it,I never actually got around to doing it.. )
Hi, we have a VW Trident with a high top & wondered if anyone knew a good drive away awning that would fit..... We are willing to fit the 8 beading to the high top body.
I have a Trio Sport as in my gallery,it is fixed with 8 section, just flick it out the gutter and drive away, when you return flick it back in the gutter,

Thanks Pete, but our van has covered gutters - the thing I'm not sure about is how the 8 fixing fits to the side of the van. We are fairly new at this and I want to get the best possible option. The Movelite looks to be up there with the better ones.
One other point that I've remembered about the Movelite we had was that the connecting apron didn't fully cover the travel of the sliding door,on our previous Duetto(so that some of the door was out in the rain when it was open).
Although I dare say that this may also apply to several other tent or porch type awnings..
I used the figure 8 stuff to attach an NR stand alone awning to the gutter on a Transit based Autosleeper.
I found the same problem as Chris above when the sliding door was open, also the darn figure 8 strips wouldn't stay in the gutter, they kept falling out. And if we went off site it was tricky getting lined up exactly again.
I think the ones that go over the roof and tie on somewhere look easier, but never tried them so don't know.

If you can't see the light at the end of the tunnel, just keep going till you go round the bend.
I reckon the "throw over" method would be the way to go too...
Although I suppose it depends on what "paraphernalia" there is on your roof..!?
The only time we put our Movelite up,was on the driveway...and I ended up having to get the step ladder out because the straps got caught on the vents & aerial and wouldn't pull clear..
Hi Mudlind, you just ease the the top section verticle and its will come out easy, when refitting after a day out just hold it to the gutter ease it up again and it pops back in,my awning back unzips and rollls up so it very easy to do,I use the van steps to reach it as my van is quite high,on mine I have three pieces.
I also have a Fiamma F45i put it back on this week and it fits the front slide in that my privy room clip system goe`s into

Thanks for the advice guys, I think we will opt for the 'over the top' method. That way we can avoid the wood on the inside of the sliding door getting wet when its open. Lets go shopping......!
We found throwing the top over and tying a line to the door handle during a strong breeze kept our tunnel secure , All the time the wind blew our 8 type gutter attachment blew off so hence throw the ends over the roof and fingers crossd for you all ,, have fun and enjoy
we have a T25 and have a royal traveller annexe that we bought last year.Just used it last week and it stood up to pretty stormy weather! it sleeps 2/3 in an inner tent and attaches with a figure of 8 attachment. We have a bar that goes through the bit that attaches to the gutter and weighs it down - we also taped the end ropes to the bar to stop it blowing off!
