I was pretty sure an Omnivent was fitted, and am now certain. The inner frame size is 458x462

The only one I can find to fit is the is the Fiamma 50 x 50

http://www.fiammastore.com/Vent_page2.htm

The one you show on your post is the one I tried. It was like the scene from Only Fools and Horses with the chandelier!! As my son stood patiently watching..... the roof vent fell through the hole into the inside cab of the motorhome lol.

You've got me worried that they've packed mine in with 10mm of newpaper

I shouldn't joke about it as it wouldn't surprise me.  I'm kind of looking forward to taking mine out to see what it measures.

Luckily it's too cold to attempt such a job at the moment

Hey Crag thank you for that.

I ordered a Fiama 50 x 50 last week and it arrived today. It is a perfect fit without any cutting or alterations. I will fit it later on in the week. Tonight I finished fitting the new fire I was installing. I ordered a new gas heater complete with the ultraheat electric unit prior to christmas and fitted it over the last few days. Its working like a dream and I am really happy with it. I wanted to upgrade to a fire that could take the ultraheat and when gas is involved I wanted new to make sure the kids are safe.

One note if you ever upgrade your fire the existing has a 10mm elbow on it and the new units have a 8mm connection. The only way I found to fit it to the unit was a 15mm elbow with a 15-10 and a 15-8 reducer attached.

Crag I have purchased my sealant roll and will fit it either Friday or over the weekend. I will keep you updated on how it all works out when I fit it.

My tape measure seems to be working better now lol (no comments sparky)

Regards

Garz

Well its fitted at last. Carried it out last night and water tested today. All okay the only casualty was a blunted jigsaw blade.

I fitted the Fiama 50 x 50 it is similar to the original KonTiki vent but needs about 2mm taken out with the Jigsaw at the sides and rear. Be aware if its the overcab vent (as this one was) not to trim at the front otherwise you will be left with a hole behind the spoiler on the roof. It was remarkably easy to fit with hardy any swearing taking place! I am planning now to buy another as I replaced with the clear vent and the increase in light coming in is remarkable!

Thank you Sparky1958 for the screws couldn't have managed without them.

Oh well time to relax with a beer! Thanks to everyone who gave me advice on this thread.

Regards

Garz

Oh what a day. It would seem now that everything is removed the apeture size for a swift Kontiki is ....... 480 x 480. It would also seem that this size of vent is a thing of the antiques roadshow.

I've had a bash at trying to fix the rooflight in the overcab yesterday and my aperture on my Kontiki is 400x400

How did you get on with yours Garz?
