Before I had the Eldiss I had an Autosleeper Frisky - 1989, panel van conversion on a Ford Transit base, and I suspect your Peggy is probaly very similar in layout and specs.

It didn't have a separate leisure battery, the 12v in the van all ran from the cab battery.

To make the beds up, the front seats were moved forwards as far as they would go and then the backrests wound down as far as they would go. They were a bit lumpy, couldn't get a good night's sleep, one of the reasons we changed vans.

It could be made into a double using the table beteen the rear seats and the cushions that were the backrests as the infill.

Hope that helps.

Thanks Caz

We got that far, as you say - not very comfy.  Time will tell, I'll let you know after our first trip.  Mind you, not sure now when that will be, as hubby fell in ice a couple of weeks ago,and is still in some pain - so comfort a priority for him at the moment!!

Once again many thanks

Hi Caz

Just to let you know that I took the van out for a run, to avoid 'seizing' up etc. Again, she ran very well.

I have just fettled how to open the bonnet - we are not very mechanically minded!! -can you tell.  Anyway, the van has 2 batteries?  Not sure whether this is the norm for a van, or, perhaps one is indeed a 'leisure battery'.

One thing for sure, this site is great re forum, info etc, what a find.  Many thanks to all who respond, and hopefully, once I have some experience under my belt, I will have something useful to contribute!!

Regards to all  Lavlark

as you look at the van from the front the battery on the right will be your leisure battery . to the left of your battery on the lhs of the van you should see a relay this is for the split charging get that checked by a auto elect and he will tell you if there is a problem on the leisure side of things.

hope this helps please keep us all informed as to the outcome.

Hi Delboy and Wynsurfer

Well, once again you came up trumps.  Thanks for taking the time to respond.  You are right about the position of the batteries Delboy, will get them checked as you suggested.

Wynsurfer, also thanks for your advice, I know preloved site, didnt realise they had a forum, will check it out.  Envious of your location today, what a lovely day for it as well.

Regards to all
