Well i've been looking for one myself  one that fits my (jumbo transit campervan conversion) and it's going to be the Kyham Motor-Dome Excelsior the 2010 one when it's out. check here 

It has to be that one for me as my van awning rail is at 224cm high. Not cheap but i like the fact it's up in minutes and has a 5000 HH. Sod messing around if it's raining eh..

You can buy a standard motorhome porch awning, either a 2 or 3 bay and it will slide straight into the Omnistor. You need to measure from the ground to the awning channel and buy one to fit.

A 2 bay one will cost about £160 and only take around 20 minutes to put up.

We tend to wind out our Fiamma  awning a foot, thread the porch awning in and then wind it back in.

The awning groove on our Omnistor is on the inside of the front rail,meaning that it'll need to remain open(..I think?..)

That's why I'm entirely sure just how strong an "anchor point" it would be.. 

Our EasiPorch need a strong fixing because it isn't self supporting and needs to be  tensioned away from the van in a "pram canopy" fashion..

Not sure if they still produce them or not?...ours' cost  around £80 a couple of years back...

It's really simple to put up and pretty stable when fixed a strong rail!(...We first used ours' on a Duetto and had to use the fig of 8 stuff and It was pants!..as it kept becoming unclipped from the van guttering!)

 Although it's big enough for a small table,a couple of chairs,stove etc,it may be not big enough for "Party Tent" duties!?

(Oh!..and I hadn't realised that the Omnistor even had an awning rail until I'd read your post  )

..Does anyone on here use the groove on their Omnistor,to support an awning?..if so,how successful has it been?..

Sorry Bri' ..I'm not fully with you..?

So..you've got the outer rail of Omnistor unwound a little..and you've then secured it using a couple of pegged down straps?..(Have I got that bit correct?)

Have you actually used this method "in anger",or just tried it on the driveway?...

(...Had another look at our's and we may be able to pass a couple of slim straps behind the awning body and use them to strap it back closed,once the porch awing has been threaded through..)

Oh sorry!..I'd totally got the wrong end of the stick....I thought that you'd tried using the groove to fix/carry a seperate porch awning..Oops!

I'm not really a big fan of the windout awnings myself(..the slightest breeze makes them creak'n'rattle to much for my liking ) and they can do to much damage if they do let go..we saw a complete awning,laying on the floor next to a Hymer last year..it had been completly torn off! 

That's why I ened up fitting the additional awning rail onto our previous van,so that we could use our lightweight porch awning..
