I use mine all year round. It has Propex heating but it sounds like Concorde taking off. Oct to March I always go for EHU and keep a small oil filled rad on all the time, boosted with a fan heater when needed. I've also made some screens for the windows out of foil covered bubble wrap stuff from Homebase which help to keep it warm.
ditto.... small oil filled radiator on EHU plus fan heater and home-made silver screens ( B and Q roll of stuff ).
