Tentz makes a fair comment, most people do indeed chose the cheapest. Ultimately though if Stew and other members cant even get a basic quote without hassle, and lets be honest this is their absolute core business, then how are we supposed to have confidence in them actually dealing with anything important!!
I had the car insured with Saga for the last 9 yrs never claimed, last year the price shot up, got a quote from Adrian Flux £150 cheaper than Saga and £100 less excess, Saga could not match it so am now with Adrian Flux
I always ring around and go with the cheapest as long as the level of cover is what I want, have done for the last 30 years and will continue to do so.
I think they are all as bad as one another, if you look around you can find problems with them all and that goes for some of the major players.
You pays your money and takes a chance, I think most of them are covered by some qango or other so we should be protected if the worst happens, just keeping my fingers crossed I don't have to use any of them.
Just been through the process of obtaining loads of quotes for insurance. Just bought a three year old Swift Sundance 590RS & although new to this game, I have a good driving record with a car. The most expensive quote I recieved was from Saga - £430.00 without breakdown cover. I chose to go with the Camping & caravanning Club Clubcare insurance for £280.00 fully comp. with full breakdown cover.
I think everyones circumstances are so different that one company is no better than another in general terms.
Hi all, Had my first van with Saga moved postal address and my premium doubled, gave them the elbow, that was years ago, I've also got an old MPV i run around in, Rung around for a renewal quote this year, same postal address cheapest quote was Saga, no rime or reason to it.
