yep,  am back now but I know the aire at St-Valery-en-Caux. It is very handy for the town and looking out over the boats. We found a lovely aire at Cajarc by a disused railway station. It is in the Loire. There's room for about 15 vans and the town is mediaeval and worth a look round. if you get a chance go to St Cirq Lapopie - stunning village on a hill very near Cajarc. We sat for a long time on the disused railway track watching huge ants running along the track. There was a boules game in progress by the station. It is only a short walk into the vilage which has quite a few shops. I am sitting in my lounge now listening to the rain battering down on my velux window and dreaming of the sunshine we had for six weeks in France. I do hope we are fit and well enough to make a return visit in the Spring of next year.

We've been to St Circ Lapopie, it's lovely. Not been to Cajarc, did you say it was in the Loire? Or near St Circ Lapopie? Sounds a nice Aire.

Yes, it is very near Lapopie. Just a few miles away. There is also a campsite just over the bridge where we had to get water and fill up as the services was broken and as it was near the end of the season, no-one seemed to want to know. i agree with an earlier post about the South of france. They are not a bit campervan friendly. We went down and immediately headed back up to the Loire and the Dordogne. We couldn't find many aires with free electricity anymore - However, we had bought ourselves a generator which we used when we found a quiet spot. It was a blessing.
