Fab pics.  looks like you had a great time!

We scoot up to Dunster beach most weekends with the pooches as we like the fact you can park almost on the beach.

Hope Paddy gets better soon.

Thanks Chelsea Girl

How's the new Auto TraIl doing - did you pick 'her' up this weekend???

Yes, 1st of March.  Old Oaks was our first trip.  100% better than the Bessacarr, love the new layout, the mood lighting, everything...it just feels so much better in terms of build quality, just shutting the door you can "feel it".  Inlaws have it this weekend.....trying to find somewhere suitable and open for them to go!!    Any ideas?  (they like CC sites) or sites within walking distance of a town or on a bus route.

Another satisfied Auto Trail owner then?!

Not many CC sites open in our area at the moment.  How about Hidden Valley, Ilfracombe (bus stop right outside site to Barnstaple or Ilfracombe) or perhaps Camping Caradon, Looe (bus goes right into the site every hour to Looe or Polperro).  Not stayed at either for one reason or another but both open all year and both on our must do lists!!!

Hope they get in somewhere for a play!  Keep us posted.

Absolutely!  I'm sure the inlaws will love it, they'll find it much easier with the single beds (FIL has had knee replacements).  And I can reach all the cupboards!

Back to the original subject!I     have booked to go to Porlock, Sparkhayes Campsite, on 22nd - 25th March. 3 Motorhomes.  Am a bit worried after reading some feedbacks, about the hills!   Are they that bad?  It sounds a lovely place!

Porlock hill is VERY steep cheethama but buses use it regularly and the road isn't that small!!!  You can come in via Minehead to avoid the hill so you'll be fine. Enjoy, it really is a gorgeous area.

Been up and down many times and Countisbury at Lynmouth and Lynton Hill between Lynton and Lynmouth (my favourite place). It's the bend near the bottom which can be a bit intimidating, more due to reputation I think!

My uncle used to drive petrol tankers up and down Porlock, the ones with cable brakes, I think!
