Great to hear your story PeeWee. There was me thinking that I was the only one to make such silly mistakes!

When we purchased our MH and I was trying it all out at home, no matter what I did I could not get the gas cooker to work. I even roped in my brother-in-law (an experienced caravaner) and despite our best efforts and a couple of telephone calls to the dealer where I purchased it regarding the gas valves etc., I still could not get the thing to work.

Just before we went off to buy a new gas cylinder I decided to read the cooker manual (why don't us chaps ever read them first) and saw that I mentioned 'pushing in' the cooker knobs as you turn them and then pressing the ignition switch. Doh!!!

Like you I could not get our tv and satellite to work but fortunately I have a pal who is a wizz with electronics and he set it up for me. I did not realise that you had to set the TV to analogue to accept the signal...

Good lock PeeWee.

So you left your window open all night, well I for one have done that on more than one occasion, and gone to bed leaving the doors un-locked, not a good move, but hey, we are only human, and I suspect that most of us have that hand grenade syndrome, stuff every where except where its supposed to be. Anyway its all about the enjoyment of being out and about, so carry on camping. Regards

Yes..and the brochures always show a clutter free van, with at most a couple of glasses of wine, possibly a small bowl of fruit..and at a push,an elegant olive oil jug, on the table...

They never show the constantly unfurling kitchen roll...the map that refuses to fold back up properly..or the multipack of crisps do they...!?

First time we went out in our van we very carefully locked the habitation door and put the little twist lock bits across - dont use them any more - only to find when we were getting ready to leave (2 days later) that the cab doors were unlocked!

We take a little more care these days
