The battery is still chargeing , space for batteries on my autotrail is at the back and very limited for battery size, I can only get batteries that are 225mm high (including terminal) in the space ,that's the reason for going for 1 largeish and not connecting to smaller ones together,

The battery shop down the road can only get the

took the battery of charge this morning , been on the charger since 12.45pm Sunday dinner time.

i put back on the motorhome as i had nothing at home that i could use to apply a load ,

battery 13.21 of the charger left to stand for 3 hours then applied load as soon as load was applied voltage was 12.78v

3.5amp for 1 hour 12.51v after 30mins no load 12.78v

3.5amp for 1 hour 12.46v after 30mins no load 12.71v

3.5amp for 1 hour 12.42v after 30mins no load 12.66v

1 hour later no load 12.68v

this seams better than my test applying a constant load for 5 hours

Chris, I would say the battery is in need of replacement as the voltage drop is bad for a low load of 3amps. At least you now know better. Will await your next message when you have fitted the new battery.

Cheers, I have ordered a new battery from the megastore and should be here today , I will stick the charger on it then put on the van , and then update again ,

Sitting here at the Peterborough show and wondered how your new battery is holding up. We have heating on, TV and Sat system on as well as fridge and hot water and so far since 2pm yesterday drawn 47amps and batteries still reading 12.67volts with only 1amp per hour from the sun behind the clouds.

Just retested and all seams OK ,

Start voltage 13.20

1 hour 3.5amp load voltage 12.50v
30 minutes rest voltage 12.80v

1 hour 3.5amp load voltage 12.46v
30 minutes rest voltage 12.75

1 hour 3.5amp load voltage 12.44v
30 minutes rest voltage 12.71

Voltage finally settled at 12.73v after 8 hours ,now back on the solar charge and 3amp been put in , no more testing just getting the van ready for the trip to Scotland 10 days time,

How was Peterborough, very muddy

Chris, looks like your sorted now and I'm pleased for you. Just make sure that your battery is on charge when not in use as that will keep it in good condition as all batteries need to be float charged (13.8volts) when not in use (this can be done with solar panel) Remember that when you are down to 12.2volts the battery needs a good charge on EHU as solar will not charge it at 14.4volts.
Peterborough is cold wet, but today sun is out, however we won't be attending again as watch folk being towed off field this morning.

Thanks John for your help and information

I have a victron 75/15 MPPT regulator which seams to be the bee's knees, I also have the Bluetooth dongle connected to the regulator and bmv700 and the app on the tablet and phone to view all that's happening with the solar and battery
