Ok Pete

I have all the Bits however I don't want to pull a cable (if I can help it) from the back of the MH to the ENGINE BAY is there a 12V ( constant)that I can piggy back off ?

I have looked a the Cigarette power but that is dead with the engine turned off.

Any ideas ? We have a Six Berth Autotrail

Gary

There as far as I can say as I had this same system fitted to my Auto Trail Mohican.
There are no live feeds all are ignition controlled or come off the split charge relay when engine running i.e. Fridge.
I did put a constant 12v to the dash for charging the battery in the dark ages before solar panels.

The solar system is totally a separate system on my vehicles, newer mhs can have them fitted into the controllers as mine but it's restricted to100 watts so didn't go there .
Also it doesn't write off the MH controller which are expensive if it goes wrong basically keep it simple and separate.
It's cost me £8 for a new 10amp controller in 8 years. I do carry a spare.

If you use the thick extension cable I mentioned clipped to the floor with P clips these can be plastic or metal with rubber coating ,it will be fine , hose pipe cover around chassis sharp edges just to be on safe side. In case of chafing

The hardest hole to drill will be the one in the roof but a liberal amount of silicon and the gland cover it won't leak.
If the controller is placed in a cupboard it has to be ventilated or you will have condensation form in autumn and winter. The controller produces heat , transferring any unwanted electrical current into heat i.e. When Batteries are fully charged. It has to go somewhere.
Hope this helps
Ps connect the controller to battery first and then the panel to controller , otherwise it will blow controller.
Pete

Great almost there
I'm afraid you will have to run from liesure to motor battery same cable as mentioned with 10 amp inline fuses on positives took me less than an hour to fit but it was in the summer.
No use for the earth.
