Yes. The 800w one I used years ago was modified sine wave. They were expensive then and a pure one would have been thousands. It worked OK.

Yeah that's good then and hopefully won't have any problems running it from my 12v cigarette socket.

Off the techy side of things..

but, how far are you travelling, between home and the campsite?

Because if it, and everything in it, is thoroughly chilled down before you set off(with maybe some frozen bottles of water inc') and it's left closed, it should remain cool for ages...just treat it as a coolbox..

..people manage with them on-oute okay..

Have some spare fuses at hand, they are usually only 15amp on the socket. Mine was wired straight to the battery with thick cable.

be careful some modern fridges will only work with a pure sine wave inverter.
i have been running 240 v fridges for years i was ok untill the new one i bought .
a mate was having trouble with his table top fridge . but a real cheap modified sine wave bought in morocco works it fine . i now use a ring pure sine wave . i often have either a fridge or an undercounter fridge freezer in my truck.
mind the undercounter fridge at home and my full size freezer are old but both work off the inverter and a lead ran into the house. i reckon it saves about 40p aday powering both or about 20p just the fridge .
i wire my inverter straight to the battery bank dont bother with fuses just plug in an extension lead . a short one for in the truck a 10mtr one for running into the house.
i still have a mod simwave in the truck ,use that for the washing machine etc when away in winter.
