VWs certainly do have a strong enthusiast following. I was actually looking for one when I bought my Bongo, but the prices were way out of my range. I had never heard of the Mazda Bongo until my search for a VW turned one up. I looked at several Bongos before I bought one, and did a lot of research. I soon realised that the average price of a Bongo was about half the average price of a VW of the same age and condition. A couple of test drives and I was sold! The real clinchers were the 2.5 turbo-diesel, 4WD, and auto-gearbox of the one I bought. Never had any problem with spares either. Most bits were readily available and reasonably priced, not that I actually needed much in the 5 years I owned it. Would have been longer but someone nicked it and it never turned up again!

Colin
