OP hasn't responded to a single reply so I doubt if we'll hear anything. There are reviews of the Applecross campsite from people in caravans - vehicles are more powerful & brakes more effective than they were when I first (& last) went over in the early '80s. So I'm sure OP will do fine.

Joe, I have been waiting to know the exact same thing. Reading the replies as they arrive. However it is not September yet and that is the time he has said he will be travelling.
We would not do it, as we have done the Wrynose Pass and The Hardknot in the car. Yes both fantastic drives, however I would never do it in our van.
Must get my eyes tested Austins, missed the September date on the OPs post.

Hi Folks, We will be touring the Highlands in September in a 25ft motor home (Swift Escape) and we'd like to travel over the Bealach Na Ba to Applecross.
I consider myself a competent and experienced driver....
Hi folks, sorry, don't come on here very often so didn't see any replies after the first 3 or 4.
We leave tomorrow so I'll let you know how we get on, although SWMBO changes our route daily so could end up anywhere

I have only just spotted this thread so don't know how the Pattison family got on. I have driven up that road every year for many years and love it. I am a birdwatcher and go there for the resident Ptarmigan that are around the top car park.
The road is great to drive up and down when nothing much else is around but can be a bit hairy when busy.
I have been caught out a few times when there have been cycle hill race meetings on. Then it can be a bit of a nightmare.
As an aside. What a delightful place Sheildaig is. Also if you didn't know a pair of White-failed Eagles breed on the island there and are monitored by Nanny's tea room(a palace I would recommend for a well earned pit stop)
