Unfortunately with regard to the MOT and tyre pressures the only check is for severely under inflated tyres. The best way to get tyre pressures right is to ask the testing station for the axle weights of your vehicle and then contact the tyre manufacture (usually Michelin or Continental) who will give you the correct pressure for the weight. Alternatively you can have the vehicle weighed at a public weigh bridge. The maximum psi listed on a tyre wall may not be relevant here in the UK since one tyre manufacturer advised me this referred to American use and could be run higher in the UK (temperature dependent?). Also unless the pressure listing on the door pillar has been replaced after the conversion it will be showing the pressure for the base vehicle and be incorrect for your conversion.
