Most council have a carpark section on their web sites and many tell you which car parks and what size vehicle you can park over 6.4 mtres suspect you will only find some park and ride parking, Winchester has some dedicated MH parking for instances nice to see an enlightened council
You can park for free along the promenade in Morecambe, at the north end, opposite Happy Mount Park and the golf club. We were there last week and did that whilst we had a walk on the prom. And there's parking all the way back to Broadway and a few bits beyond, I think. Buses certainly run from Bare into the centre and beyond.
There's locals having a discussion about this on their fb, some against, but plenty for.

Do folk with Transporter size campers not use the toilet inside the van when needed? Unless I was in the same spot for a while with no facilities not sure I could be bothered to set up a toilet tent & not really practical in a carpark.
Don't always have room for a toilet but yes if there was one inside we would use it instead of a toilet tent.

Unfortunately there are not many councils like this. St Edmundsbury in Suffolk have provided MH parking in Bury St Edmunds at the ram meadow car park and you can even stay overnight!

I’m thinking of getting a campervan and we have the same concerns. Best bet seems to be park further away on a side street and use an electric bike, and maybe soon a scooter to Get to places. Not actually tried it yet but it seems to be a plan
(I can see clear advantages of MH (bigger payload, no towing, easy setup on site etc).)
I would think again when it comes to payload most campervans/motorhomes do not have a big payload, quite often folk get them upgraded to a higher weight, having found that with very little of their stuff onboard they are at the vehicles total weight

Don't get that. If you haven't got room to carry a toilet what do you use in the toilet tent?
