Greetings and salutations.
I could repeat almost everything said before me and would not be telling a solitary untruth. Motorhoming is such a blast, you'll love it, just take care to pick a good one and be certain it's the right one for you.
When you eventually get the chance to the Scottish Highlands, make sure you've got lots of time to spare, there's no such thing as straight roads up there and cornering is not a motorhomes best facet so journeys take a long time. It is a truly stunning place to visit though.
There's probably no need for me to say this, but, keep us all informed on how your hunt for your new life goes... yes i did say that right... once you've got a motorhome, you get a new life and there's no going back!
All the best
Phil

you are considering a medium size motorhome, but do not say if you may be considering a large van conversion.
sometimes the terminology gets muddled up. If you are considering van conversion , do be careful that if it has not been converted from new, or that it is a non proprietary converter, it may appear a bargain, but can be difficult to sell on - the values do no hold with some converters, and those by non proprietary makers, are really only to the person purchasing, or having the conversion done. again, can be really difficult to get out of at realistic re sale price. often when people buy for the first time, they do not realise the camper van market.
again, the base vehicle of your chosen motorhome, if a coachbuilt or A class reflects on value in the long term.
In the past, the Renault Trafic was a popular base, but it is really only the VW that has maintained a really long life in value terms. Read some of the back numbers of MMM and practical motorhome as much as you can......can really save you loads of money and influence your choice.
left hand drive imports like Hymer, are fine, if you are getting to spend loads of time touring Europe, but can be harder again, to sell on, and are usually much cheaper to buy - so can be excellent if bear that in mind. Did not go for lhd myself, as did not know if would be selling on......or when. have been really pleased with mine, have had it 4 or 5 years, but will be changing shortly......when can find what I want. So in the future, if someone is looking for rhd Hymer 564 1995 with think 40K on clock, watch UKCS
