Put up a taxi sign, Milemuncher and you'll get more waves than you can digest...
Waving in traffic is alright. It's always nice to recognise other unknown people that share the same passion as you, be it bikers or MH'ers. Peers always have an excuse to look eachother up at those parkings at supermarkets. We share a common interest so, the ice is immediatly broken.
Of course there are some that don't wave. But these could also be renters, not doing the lifestyle of owners. They're already glad to have steered clear of any danger so far and here you are, flashing and waving. They probably get panicking attacks from the mere thought of letting go of the steeringwheel with one hand to return the courtesy. And by the time they have found the flashswitch you've passed already...
Should we form a actiongroup endeavoring to educate the rent-a-motorhome dealers that waving is abligatory?
Hey - what's all this "lol" business then? I dunno wot it meens!
We always wave and generally get a wave back ...... but not on motorways, too dangerous! Not in France, Spain, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium or Italy either, unless we happen to see it's British.
Let's all resolve to wave more - it makes us feel quite special and loved!
There we are tootling down the road and see another mh. We wave and flash our lights and these dear people who have just borrowed a mh pull up a little down the road wondering what we were trying to tell them. "No theres no smoke, darling" , "I can't see anything wrong with the tyres, I wonder what they tried to tell us".
this might make you laugh.....we hired a motorhome a couple of weeks ago to see if we would enjoy it...and really did.....noticed that people in other motorhomes were waving so started waving back.....got into so much I even waved to an ice cream van coming the other way.....
Waving is one thing but if anyone flashes their lights at me I always assume there's something wrong!! Last time it happened my roofbox lid had come open!!
I also meant to say - when my children were smaller they used to amuse themselves in traffic jams or queues etc.by making signs that they held up to the people around - things like ' what a nice dog' or 'I like your car' or 'we're going to the seaside' etc.. made people smile, esp as their spelling left alot to be desired!
we always wave...but when you drive a high top panel van . people don't always realize what those nutters in the high top are waving for.don't flash unless I no them or are in same club..find if you say speak to people and you have a dog people will chat and before you no it you are related .
------------- do it to day it might be too late tomorow
we wave too, and 90% wave back too, except for vw`s dunno whats up with them but they never seem to see us, and the best man at our wedding has a vw.. but we haven`t passed him yet
