Hi Bodie, I hope no-one thinks I having a go at them for drinking and smoking. I was just trying to justify to myself the expense of such a purchase.

Guess I'm going to be busy waving then!

No word on delivery yet as the salesman had  time off due to a death in the family, so will have to wait until he returns to work. I keep looking at the brochure and dreaming!

 We bought our 2005 autosleeper july last year,we were going to buy one when I retire in 8 years, but my wife was taken seriously ill Feb last year,and I thought sod it you only live once so we took the plunge and have never regreted it.WE are away any spare time we have.

I'm with all that's been said beforehand. We caravaned for a fair few years & loved it, but changed to a MH about 6yrs ago. We are on our third one now & never regretted a single minute. I've lost count of the number of times when we've just jumped in the MH & gone & commented that "we couldn't do this/that in a 'van. We started with an oldish Autotrail Cree, decided this was for us, so changed to a Fiat Ducatto Compass Drifter 410, then 12 months ago down-sized slightly to my present MH the Autosleeper Executive SE, as SWMBO wasn't to comfortable driving the large Drifter. I'm only 15 months (& counting) to retirement & then the coming back Sunday nights will be a thing of the past. So enjoy your MH Paul, & like some have said,  "Don't forget to wave"

I've noticed a few of you are bikers also. I was a biker until 2004 when I sold my pride and joy, a BMW R1150R, to buy my first caravan. Would love another one but I guess I'm in enough debt now!!

Hi Paul there will come a time when you can afford a bike again. We have all been in the same situation,married, children. Then children leave home, then more money to spare. I went 26 years without a bike, then started again in 1996. you never get motorbikes out of your blood. My wife struggles to get on the Harley now so I am thinking of getting it triked. then we can also take our little Jack Russel on it as well.

hi all newbie in every sense of the word  had a mad moment at the NEC last week splashed out on a 07 bessacarr 560 cant wait to get my mitts on it ,they phoned today having it on the 20th for such a expensense i'm thinking of a tracker any views I know they are expensive but so was the van also insurance any good ones out there I should know about anyway cant wait never guess i'm 50 would you ha ha

Congratulations Jury, I can understand your excitement only about 22 sleeps though ! lol.

Can't make any tracker suggestions but saw the PoliceChase programme last night where the Trackers helped recover 2 vehicles one from a remote barn.  Perhaps your local Crime Prevention Officer may be able to help.

After that all you have to do is plan your 1st trip away.

Hi all, dealer phoned today to tell me he still hasn't got a definate date for delivery of my Autoquest. He said end of March beginning of April is likely and said the Explorer group factory is very busy and we just have to wait to see what happens. I would have liked a definate date, it all seems a bit vague. Still excited though, like a child waiting for Christmas!

If the dealer keeps you waiting too long for your new van, as they invariably do. Then voice your dissatisfaction, and use it as a bargaining tool to get free stuff out of them.

When my dealer kept fobbing me off with delays, i wasnt really that bothered, but i made a bit of a fuss about it. They ended up throwing in a nice new CD/Radio sound system to keep me sweet. When you are spending tens of thousands of pounds worth of business with a company, youd be surprised what extra you can get out of them. Before the CD/Radio, i had already got the Canopy Awning thrown in and other bits & bobs.

You have come to MH from a Caravan perspective - so the accommodation will not be so different.  What is so wonderful about MH is the lack of hasstle.  I have camped for years, but no matter how well versed we were, and how efficient we became, it was a hasstle setting up and getting away, such that a weekend never seemed worth it.  Getting a caravan hooked up, towing it to a site, and then manouvering it into place and putting down the jacks etc. might not seem too much hasstle, but I know a lot of people who baulk at it for a night.  MH is so simple by comparison- just drive to a venue, roll into the pitch, hook up the electrical connection and turn on the gas, job done.  Five minutes and you are ready to start cooking a meal; what more could you want?  Leaving is just as quick - roll in the hookup, turn off the gas, secure the load and off you go.  Ten minutes at ther very most.  Belive me, you won't regret your investment.  Just make the most of it; life is shorter than any of us would like, even if some us don't know that yet!

bought our mh last year after months of indecission which to buy we deciced to throw caution to the wind and bought a used winnebago best thing i ever did should have done it years ago so relaxing my wife doesnt recognise  me now when we take off in it

HI all, finally got a date. Pick up my new M/H next weekend all being well.What comes as standard in a new M/H. Are gas bottles or ehu cable included? Can't wait!!
