We hae
We have had this debate in our household on many occasions, OH grew up with a motorhome as her mum had one, I grew up with a caravan as my mum and dad had one, when we we're upgrading our trailer tent we looked at motorhomes, little campers and caravans and the cost of the motorhome put us off, We do a lot of walking from site anyway and we would use a driveaway awning for when we are out and about.
However when we came down to it, we had to have a large car anyway because of the dogs (now baby etc) and the cost of a used motorhome we could buy a brand new caravan, If we had a motorhome we would have in effect 3 engines to service, 3 vehicles to tax etc as it would not really be practical for us drive it day to day.
I think one day we may venture into motor homing but it depends on your circumstance.
In an ideal world I would love a VW camper just to use for weekends away etc and the caravan for long holidays!
