As i Emailed Fiat with the complaint re the petrol cap and didnt hold much hope of a reply.
Well i will have to eat my words today i had a phone call from Fiat uk and i explained the security problem, Well the polite and tentative caller stated that he would forward the information to Italy where the design decisions are made, However he did say the manufacturers tend to buy the Ducato units as a basic build stating they do have add on`s such as filler flap security but this has to be purchased when new. I suppose if your buying in quantity a few pounds on the base unit is multiplied thus taking away profit or increasing the overall price.
Perhaps we had better have a go at the Manufacturers of these expensive units no good having alarms when they can be driven away with a key.
Well ive told them lets hope they do something about it, I will get my cap tomorrow and i suggest anyone who has a filler cap that that the ignition keys fit CHANGE IT.
Perhaps we could have a swop shop lol.
