 So if they are illegal, why do they allow them to be used, it does not make any sense at all, so  the people manufactureing the A frame, are breaking the the law for selling the item as road legal, the person useing the A frame is breaking the law, these people useing the A frame must be notifying there insurance they are towing a car,there must be a grey area on this subject, else some keen young copper would have nailed somebody by now, anybody heard of anybody been summonsed for useing an A frame. 

See my previous post about the convo I had with a traffic cop friend, he was well aware of the laws so it must be something they are taught.  Baffling Corrakid I agree, but I would not want to be the one to put the law to the test in the event of an accident etc.

Basically if you want a car that badly on holiday, get a caravan. I have a motorhome and yes have thought about towing a car, but the law is vague to say the least, its not worth all the hassle. Enjoy life, take it easy, do not complicate life. Just think, this is the law in this country, try explaining this to a foreign judge!!

I was reading another forum yesterday with unbelievable postings about A frames etc where the legalities of it all didn't enter into the equation, rather which one was best, how you should adjust them blah de blah.  Never been more amazed at such a blatant disregard for the law and arrogance of the contributors.
