We went to Ireland three years ago. Never again. The most unfriendly place for motorhomes we have ever been. Lovely country but campsites, stopovers very unwelcoming. Height barriers on all parking places, impossible to asrk in towns and villages anfd certainly no wild camping, not that we would have done with the attitude of the people. they have a thing about travellers and tar us with the same brush. We stopped outside a catholic church one sunday and the congregation came out to hurl abuse at us. The roads are also appalling.
You are right not coming over leave it for your fellow countrymen and women to enjoy look at any forum and see the good reports that are posted about their holidays in Ireland. We can do without your kind.
Update we have heard from a family member today and the couple are feeling much better, hopefully they will be able to head home in the next week or so............I am so glad that they are on the mend.

We speak as we find. I hear what you are saying but you are a native so perhaps you were involved with the abuse outside the church on a Sunday morning when all we wanted to do was stop for lunch and help boost your BOOMING EU economy.

Friends of mine go to Ireland every year in their UK registered cars ands absolutely love the place. One friend of mine went there once and had every panel of his car gouged, and English B***** scribed on it.He will never go back.I lived in Newcastle for 17 years and love the place – I went back once and my car had £1000 of knife damage to the paintwork.I still go back several times a year.People are people the world over. Most people are kind and helpful, some are preoccupied, but a very few are nasty and vindictive. The lunatics who attacked this couple are so rare that we could live a hundred lifetimes and never encounter their like.It is great to know that the couple are recovering.Lets not base any of our perspectives on such rare incident by an insane duo who have dropped a few links in the DNA chain. They crop up everywhere, but as rare as lightening strikes.
------------- Best regards
Geoff
